Tooth Extractions

There are specific scenarios where it may become necessary to extract a tooth. There is absolutely no reason to be anxious during a tooth extraction. Dr. Namrata and her team of experts at “The Smylist” leave no stone unturned to ensure that your experience is pleasant, painless, and calming.

When is tooth extraction required?

  • If a tooth is substantially damaged due to trauma, decay or neglect
  • In case there are irregularities in the teeth or gums, some teeth may be removed to facilitate their treatment or alignment (orthodontia)
  • If a tooth is unable to break through the gums (erupt) due to a lack of space in the mouth, individual teeth may need to be removed
  • If a tooth grows in an odd angle, is too large for your mouth or its position hampers the alignment or integrity of the teeth
  • If a tooth or teeth are infected to a point where treatment is not possible, extraction may be used as a last resort to help preserve the rest of your teeth
  • In case of periodontal disease (gum disease), the gums and tissue surrounding teeth loosen, and it may be necessary to extract the affected teeth

Wisdom teeth are most commonly removed via tooth extraction. We recommend scheduling a consultation with Dr. Namrata so that she can assess the situation and suggest the appropriate course of treatment.
